WEAPON MODIFICATIONS

    1. TRICK SHOT MOD

      The trick shot mod is designed to allow a form of indirect fire for sniper rifles and assault rifles, creating opportunities to shoot around obstacles and corners. The mod combines an omni tool mod and a weapon mod, both of which must be installed to be used correctly.
      The Omni Tool mod contains a dedicated micro V.I. that utilises the omni tool scanner and a micro drone [Two Micro drones can be carried with the mod and connected to it at any given time, though spares may be carried in a pocket and connected to the mod if required in the field.
      The user designates a target with the omni scanner [Jamming precludes the operation of this mod] the V.I. then determines the location and optimum firing angle, and placement of the micro drone. The micro drones are built from a compact composite with a tiny kinetic barrier, designed to facilitate the rebound and redirection of any shot aimed at it. The drones can be used for up to six shots before requiring repair/replacement.

      Due to the active nature of the drones and the link to the V.I. these can be detected by active scans if someone knows what they are looking for. If the user wishes a more stealthy operation, the link can be disconnected and switched to a pulse mode, but this will limit communications, and if the target moves, redirection of the drone by the V.I. will suffer a lag.
      This mod also requires a specific ammo block to replace a standard block, though this can be switched with a single action, and like any ammo block it contains a chip that will auto mod the weapon to the required specifications. Normal shots with this ammo block loaded suffer only the damage penalty.

      Use of this mod requires the following skill:–
      W.P. Specialist [Trick] – Base Skill : I.Q. x 3 plus 4% per level.
      [This skill is always calculated as same level as W.P. skill being used]
      At 50% skill level, the user may use a single drone to redirect fire, at 75% or greater the user may attempt to use two drones.
      Shooting at drones equates a called shot, 11+ roll required to hit.

      This weapon mod is incompatible with any other weapon ammo mods.

        1. TRACKER BUG MOD

          The tracker mod is a typical feature found in any law enforcement or bounty hunter arsenal. It is a switchable ammo block that replaces normal rounds with pre-loaded and programmed tracer rounds. The programming on the rounds can be altered at any time with an omni tool before loading the ammo block.
          Like any ammo block it contains a chip that will auto mod the weapon to the required specifications. The tracer rounds are a slug with a capsule of nano tape gel adhesive on the head that will adhere the bug to whatever surface it strikes (except organic tissue, as per the safety regulations governing the use of nano tape).

          Operational Range.
          The range depends on the bug settings, it can be pre-set to simply emit a single frequency ping at pre-set intervals to limit its exposure, varying the frequency within a set range. This setting allows for the greatest duration of the bug, perhaps as long a standard month under optimal circumstances, the range however is limited to 10 to 15 km in an open environment, or less than a single km in a dense urban area or space station.
          If the bug is set to a more general broadcast, the duration is reduced, but the range increased, again, depending on location, but the bug is somewhat easier to locate on a scan or comm check.
          The bug can also be set to ping its location to a pre-set comm frequency, and with correct pre-programming, upload its location to the local communications net. This option allows for the greatest range possible, allowing the user to check the comm net for local updates on the bugs general location, and then scan for exact location when closer.
          On a station or in an urban area this allows for greatest flexibility, but as standard comm frequencies are pre-set, it means the bug is easier to locate.
